About Korinne
My name is Korinne (kuh-rin) (she/her) I am an artist in rural Wyoming.
I grew up in Lander, WY and attended college in Laramie, WY. Currently, I reside in Thermopolis, WY with my beloved Saint Bernard Gretchen Luna, adopted cat Storm and husband Sean.
I have two degrees from the University of Wyoming: a B.A. in Art Education K-12 and a B.F.A. in Fine Art with emphasis in sculpture and printmaking (2015). I completed my Master’s Degree in Spanish Language Teaching on exchange in Guanajuato, Mexico through the University of Southern Oregon (2020). I worked in public education for six years and resigned from this work in 2021. I have taught ages ranging from K-12 and adults in art, Spanish, and CTE (Career & Technical Education) courses.
In 2018, I came back to creative practice through fiber art as a means of cultivating rest, joy, play, and curiosity. This spark was ignited by a CD weaving project I taught to my 5th grade art class that year. I was enamored with the sewing-like motions and circular movement. My current practice has grown steadily over Weaving Wednesday dinners with my dear friend Heather Love @wyldflowercrochet. In December 2019, I began an Instagram account to share my fiber-based work under the name Chandlar & Company. Thanks to the sale of my first home, the support of my husband, and contract work I am now living my life in rural WY by pursuing my art full time and healing myself through slowing down .

More about Korinne
I grew up around other makers. I also had a passion for art at an early age and a ranging interest of curiosities. These influences have led me to possess experience in: drawing, painting, collage, sewing (hand and machine), weaving, macrame, jewelry fabrication, ceramics, hand and power tools, home renovation, and much good old fashioned manual labor.
I am fueled by sleep, mood music, stimulating books/podcasts/cinema/conversations, body movement, coffee/water/beer, and the extremes of traveler and deeply rooted home body.
I have studied the Spanish language for over 14 years. Hablo español a un nivel advancado-bajo (LTI).
I have studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain; NE Turkey; and Guanajuato, México. I have also traveled to Costa Rica, Jamaica, France (Nice), western Italy, Peru, Ireland, Scotland, the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, Belize and Germany.
